Data Not Collected. Darkspot has no backend and collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. There is no developer server to send anything to.
Darkspot uses your location only on your phone, and only after you allow it, to look up darkness and weather for that point. The coordinates are sent only to Apple Weather (WeatherKit, for the cloud forecast) and Apple Maps (place search and drive times), under Apple's own privacy terms. They are never sent to the developer. If you deny location access, you can search for any place instead.
Places you save and your settings stay on your device (in SwiftData and UserDefaults). They are not sent to us or synced anywhere by Darkspot. Deleting the app deletes them.
Great-night alerts are optional. They are computed and scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server.
Cloud forecasts come from Apple Weather. Apple Weather data sources and legal attribution.
Darkspot is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
If a future version ever collects anything, this page will be updated before that version ships.
